Hurricane Ida made landfall late Sunday morning at Port Fourchon. The hurricane hit Louisiana as a Category 4 storm, crushing the coast with 150 mile-per-hour winds and torrential rainfall. It is now downgraded to a tropical storm. It is now progressing north by northeast as it moves inland.
The area has been declared the event a major disaster and ordered federal aid to help recovery efforts. The full extent of the damage remains unclear at this hour. RMS Energy stands ready to help with power restoration.
