RMS Energy recently completed a major installation project on two units at Hoover Dam in Nevada.
Hoover Dam is a concrete arch-gravity dam in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River, on the border between the U.S. states of Nevada and Arizona. It was constructed between 1931 and 1936 during the Great Depression and dedicated in 1935 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. The original construction project was the result of a massive effort involving thousands of workers, and claimed more than a hundred lives.
With safety as a priority, the RMS repair project generated excellent collaboration between RMS and Hoover personnel, which ensured outstanding efficiency with no worksite incidents occurring. The RMS team was hired to install circuit breakers on Units A1 and A2 at Hoover Dam, with the work including:
Demolition of generator circuit breakers for two units
Installation of new generator circuit breakers for two units
Retrofitting of existing isolated phase bus to new generator circuit breakers
RMS Energy is a professional nationwide construction and consulting firm with highly trained and experienced installation professionals who perform all aspects of Isolated Phase Bus (IPB) duct removal, reinstallation, retrofitting and testing.
